Birthday Celebrations!

We're all about the birthdays around here!  On the morning of Aurora's birthday, we had birthday cake for breakfast!

And we gave her one of her gifts.

Then on Sunday we had her party at Putt Putt Golf and Games.  Despite the party being at a mini golf course, she still wanted a Monster Truck theme.  So that's what we did!

Opening presents.  Her big present from us was family season passes to Cliff's Amusement Park.

The kids really made out!  The birthday package included game cards and prize tickets so they went home with tons of little prizes.  I think it was a great birthday!

7 Years Old!

Well I'm a little late with the birthday posts this year, but better late than never, right?!

Around 11:00pm on a Friday the 13th in May, 7 years ago, I became a mom. SEVEN years ago - I can't believe it!

These days, Miss Aurora Christine is beautiful, smart, and talented. She is an amazing artist and I love to see her drawings and paintings.  She can read with the best of them, she's got my math skills, and she does great with all of her school work.  She's a social butterfly to the point where she gets in trouble quite often for interrupting or talking!

She's very witty and she's not afraid to say what she thinks.  She's a great big sister to Alex.  And she's just like her Great-Grandma with her love of animals.  I couldn't have asked for a better daughter!  Happy Birthday Aurora!

Mother's Day!

Well I'd better get to posting before the month of May passes me by!  I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  On Saturday the kids decided they wanted to clean and wash my Jeep!  Okay it didn't really get that clean but it was fun watching them!

Sunday started out with some wonderful gifts from Hubby and the kiddos!  Aurora made me a bookmark and a ceramic flower vase, Alex made me a placemat with a poem and his handprints, and Hubby got me an XBox Kinect dancing game!  We also had chocolate chip muffins for breakfast.

At my suggestion, instead of doing the usual Mother's Day dinner with the in-laws, we took a road trip to the Land of Fire and Ice about 90 mins away.  It is a beautiful place with a volcano on one side and an ice cave on the other.  We had been there before but the kids had not.  We packed a picnic lunch and hit the road!
