Spring Snow Storm

Saturday morning we woke up and were surprised to see several inches of snow!! It was the most snow we had seen all year and it was on the weekend so we were super excited to go play in it. Last year, Alex was in a full body cast during most of the winter, so this was his first time really getting out in it. We got bundled up and headed to a nearby park that has a soccer field shaped like a bowl - perfect for sledding! Fortunately we had our discs from White Sands so we were all set!

When we got there, Alex was a little reluctant to go down the hill at first, but once he got in he loved it! The discs were FAST! There were several other people there with actual sleds and asked to borrow a disc because they were so much faster! It was fun!

We also tried to build a snowman, but the snow was so powdery we could only make a tiny one. It was still cute!

The best part about New Mexico is the weather. We had all that fun in the morning and then by the afternoon, the snow was all gone and it was back to sunny and warm grilling weather!

So, so fun!! I haven't been sledding in years and would love to give it a try again sometime. It looks like the coolest thing!

Looks like you had a great time in the snow!
CRAZY that your snow was gone by the end of the day! (and how nice!!!) Our last snow storm left snow on the ground for a month! ACK!

I can't believe you got that much snow on the first of spring!

and that it all melted that fast! Of course living in NM I remember the snow melting fast, but that was when we would only get 1/2-1 inch of snow -not enough to go sledding like you guys got!
